View Ranger advice reqd re. OS Map Sizes

I was impressed with SamHB's View Ranger app yesterday and have downloaded it to my phone.  Any advice on the scale of maps to download would be appreciated.  1:25k and 1:50k are available.  They have to be bought by tile and (obviously) you get more 50k tiles than 25k tiles for your money cuz they're less detailed.  So, is 1:50k good enough?

I always use 1:50k for general exploring anything else is to detailed.

Tim I was using the 1:50 scale map.

Also try and turn of the online map switch as if you don't all maps are visible to all that have the app

For the case log up ultimate addons as they do the charger and case as a package

Cheers Sam.  Checked out ultimate addons but the mofos don't have a bullet proof case & charger option for my phone (Moto G) so may have to keep it down my y-fronts for now.
